From Wells Beach and Drakes Island to Moody and the neighborhoods off Route 1, Wells has a mix of year-round homes, summer cottages, and rentals. Each one needs slightly different plumbing care, and the calendar matters as much as the pipes.
Agamenticus Plumbing is a family-owned plumbing company based in York. We help Wells homeowners with seasonal shutdowns and turn-ons, backflow testing, water heaters, and the everyday repairs that come up in between.
Seasonal homes need a plan before the first hard freeze. A winterization from our team can include draining the water system, adding non-toxic antifreeze to traps and fixtures, shutting down the water heater, and draining outside spigots and water lines, with documentation for your insurance records.
Wells is served by the Kennebunk, Kennebunkport & Wells Water District, which shuts off its seasonal water mains each fall and handles seasonal turn-on and turn-off requests. If your home is on seasonal water, tell us when you book and we'll plan your winterization and spring turn-on around the district's timing.
Spring reactivation is required with every winterization we do, so your turn-on is already part of the plan when it's time to come back. If you rent your home, opening day is a good time to catch a slow drain or a dripping faucet before guests arrive. See our seasonal services.
Agamenticus Plumbing & Heating is on the Kennebunk, Kennebunkport & Wells Water District's list of approved backflow testers. We test backflow preventers and file the results, and we repair, swap out, or install new devices when needed. Testing and filing of results are due every year, generally by a date in June, which is sent by letter to each customer with a device. If you've received a testing notice from the district, mention it when you get in touch. More about backflow prevention.
When a house fills up for a long weekend, the water heater is often the first thing to show its age. We repair and replace gas, electric, hybrid heat pump, and indirect water heaters and can help you choose one that fits how your home is used. We're also an Efficiency Maine Registered vendor who can help with rebates. See our water heater services.
We take care of leaking pipes, worn-out faucets, running toilets, and fixture replacements, along with bathroom and kitchen plumbing updates. If you have a few things on your list, share them when you book so we can plan the visit. Browse all of our services.
An inspection is a good way to understand an older plumbing system or one that came with a house you just bought. We offer whole-home plumbing inspections with a report and keep records of the work we do, which makes each future visit more efficient. Learn about our inspections.
"I have been using Agamenticus since 2013, for three separate houses. I cannot say enough about the team! For projects large and small, they are critical thinkers that do quality work, and are well priced! The team is always friendly, great communicators, and extremely efficient!"
