Cape Neddick is home for us. Owners Scott and Michelle Palmer grew up in York and Cape Neddick, and they live near Mount Agamenticus, the mountain that gave the company its name. When you call Agamenticus Plumbing, you're calling neighbors.
Whether you live here year-round or open the house each summer, we help Cape Neddick homeowners with the plumbing work that keeps a home comfortable through every season, from winter shutdowns to the everyday repairs in between.
If your home sits empty for part of the year, a proper winterization is one of the best ways to protect it. Our work can include draining the water system, adding non-toxic antifreeze to traps and fixtures, shutting down the water heater, and draining exterior water lines and spigots. We also provide documentation for insurance purposes.
If your property switches between town water and a well with the seasons, we can handle that changeover too. Winterization lowers the risk of freeze damage but can't rule it out in every condition, and repairs outside the winterization are scheduled separately. Our plumbing policies have the details.
Spring reactivation is required with every winterization we do, so plan both visits with us at the same time. When we turn the water back on, it's a good moment to mention anything you noticed last season, like a faucet that drips or a water heater that seemed slow to recover.
Staying through the winter instead? Ask about our winter wellness checks and frozen pipe repairs. See our seasonal services.
Backflow preventers protect your drinking water and need to be tested every year. We test the device, file the results, and take care of repairs, swap-outs, or new installations if your system needs them.
Agamenticus Plumbing & Heating is on the York Water District's list of approved backflow testers. For homes on the York Water District, testing and filing of results are due by June 30 each year. More about backflow prevention.
From a slow leak at the base of the tank to hot water that runs out too quickly, we'll help you sort out whether you need a repair or a replacement. We install and replace gas, electric, hybrid heat pump, and indirect water heaters, and we're an Efficiency Maine Registered vendor who can help with rebates. See our water heater services.
We handle the everyday plumbing jobs that come up in any home: faucet and toilet repairs, fixture replacements, leaks on pipes, and changes in water pressure. If your home is on a private well, we also work on well storage tanks, gauges, valves, and pressure switches. See our home care and upgrade services.
A plumbing inspection helps you plan ahead instead of reacting to the next surprise. We offer whole-home inspections with a report and keep records of your system, so each visit builds on the last. Learn about our inspections.
"Overall excellent, timely, quality service. Matt was terrific. He adapted 3 pvc pipes from basement into bathroom as prep for a shower installation. He was very knowledgeable and did an awesome job. Thanks also to Michelle for arranging the appointment so quickly!"

"I have had nothing but excellent response when scheduling service with Agamenticus Plumbing. Their employees are skillful and kind to explain the work they complete. It means a great deal to have a local company take care of the small jobs we all confront. Cape Neddick thanks you."
