We understand that the cost of fixtures, such as toilets and faucets, are quite variable, as is the quality.  You’re welcome to purchase your own fixtures or buy them through us – we’re happy to work with either option. Here’s what you should know to make the best decision:

If you purchase through us:

  • We guarantee and warranty both parts and labor
  • We ensure you get the correct fixture for your specific plumbing setup, and will work with you to get the style/design you are looking for
  • We bring all necessary parts to complete the installation
  • We’re familiar with the installation process, which typically means faster service
  • If there’s any issue with the fixture, we handle the replacement process

If you provide your own fixtures:

  • You have complete control over brand and style selection
  • You might find better prices through your own shopping
  • However, please note we can’t warranty customer-supplied materials, even if damaged during the installation process.
  • Installation may take longer if:
    • We need to review new product instructions
    • The fixture isn’t compatible with your plumbing
    • Parts are missing or damaged
    • There are any installation complications

The scope of heat projects we complete are minimal, but include: installation of kickspace heaters, relocation, installation or removal of hydronic baseboard, radiant heat, purging of hydronic heat, replacement or repairs to pipes, fittings, and components off of the heating manifold. We do not do gas work, boiler work, hvac, or clean or service heating systems. We recommend trying your fuel provider to help you with these services.

Yes, we accept all major credit cards.

We provide winterizations and turn ons for vacation homes or seasonal properties.  We offer:

  • Complete water system drainage
  • Adding non-toxic antifreeze to traps and fixtures
  • Proper shutdown of water heaters
  • Documentation for insurance purposes
  • Shutting off and draining exterior water lines and spigots
  • Switching seasonal water from city to well (and vice versa)
  • Spring reactivation services (required for all of our winterizations)

During Cold Weather:

  • Keep your home heated to at least 55°F, even when you’re away
  • Keep cabinet doors open under sinks to allow warm air circulation
  • Close garage doors and seal basement gaps where cold air enters
  • If you have supplemental heat (woodstove, heat pump, etc), do not run those exclusively.  Be sure that hydronic baseboard heat is kicking on to keep heat pipes warm and circulating water.

Your heating system should continue working when you shut off your home’s domestic water supply. Here’s why:

For Hydronic/Hot Water Heat:

  • Your boiler uses a closed loop system
  • This means the same water circulates over and over
  • It’s separate from your household water
  • It will keep working unless you have a leak in the system

For Other Heating Types:

  • Forced hot air (furnace) doesn’t use water
  • Electric baseboards don’t use water
  • Heat pumps don’t use water

Exception:

  • If your boiler shows signs of low pressure or needs frequent refilling, you may have a leak, in this case, have it checked before shutting off your water

Bottom line: Turning off your domestic water shouldn’t affect your heating system unless there’s an underlying problem.

Common brands we use would be Kohler, Sterling by Kohler, Insinkerator, Wilkins Zurn, Quiet One, Liberty, Zoeller, Grundfos, Pedrollo, Symmons, Watts, Viega, and Goulds.

We can work with you if you are looking for another brand as well.

We accept cash, check, ACH, and all major credit cards

A backflow preventer is a safety device installed in your plumbing system that acts like a one-way gate for your water. Its main job, an important one, is to protect your drinking water from contamination, which is why annual backflow preventer testing is required by law.

We can:

  • Schedule your annual test
  • Provide necessary documentation for your records
  • Make any required repairs
  • Help you stay compliant with local regulations
  • Help protect your family’s drinking water

They came when they said they would, did what they said they would do, cleaned up and left the bathroom neat and tidy, and all in less than an hour. I'd give them a straight "A"!

You can always rely on the experienced, smart work of Agamenticus Plumbing. Scott, and his wife Michelle too, were very helpful in the wake of my basement flooding. Recommend highly.
